Road Resurfacing
The economic stimulus funding for 2010 is hard at work in the City of Cambridge. The road rehabilitation program will include more than 40 lane kilometres of enhancements that will improve some 120 roads in the community. The total value of this year's project is $6 million and work is expected to be complete this fall.
The money for these projects was made available by the Infrastructure Stimulus plan which expands and accelerates the traditional multi-government investment for new infrastructure such as roads and bridges. The cost of these projects is shared equally between the federal and provincial governments as well as the City of Cambridge.
The 2010 program kicked off in mid-late April with pre-paving work including surveys, curbs and construction marking to ready the areas slated for improvement In mid-May 2010 crews will begin laying asphalt.
