Residential Parking
Residential Parking Programs
Parking throughout Cambridge is limited to three hours unless otherwise posted and prohibited between 2:30 a.m. and 6:00a.m.
In March 2007, Council approved two new residential parking programs namely, Lower Driveway Boulevard Parking (LDBP) and Extended On-Street parking (PE3). The LDBP program permits residents to park vehicles on the paved or concrete portion of their driveway between the curb and sidewalk. The PE3 program permits residents to park on-street for a maximum of 24 hours.
Both programs require the support of the majority of homeowners within the affected area and require that the roadway meet minimum geometric standards. All PE3 programs are temporarily suspended during winter snow removal operations, however, during these times residents may park on their driveways over the sidewalk.
These programs are applied for on a street-by-street basis.
