YMCA of Cambridge's Cultural Diversity Program
Our vision for Cambridge is an inclusive community where everyone belongs and lives in harmony.
The mission of the Cultural Diversity Programs and Services is to mobilize the skills and capacities of our diverse community by providing opportunities and resources to create an inclusive, respectful and engaged Cambridge.
A variety of programs and services are available for individuals and groups. These aim to help individuals and groups learn about culture, reduce discrimination and build their own capacity.
Cultural Diversity programs and services have 2 main purposes:
1) Help immigrants build skills to integrate into the Canadian context in Cambridge.
2) Help Canadian citizens and groups (Organizations, Employers and Agencies) ensure they have the capacity (knowledge, sensitivity, and resources) to welcome and continue to engage immigrants into their activities.

The Cultural Diversity Program's three year plan (2009-2011) provides detailed information on the current status of the program and the future plan.
The Newcomers Waterloo Region portal was created to support immigrant newcomers and their families settle in Waterloo Region and attract skilled immigrants matching local employment needs. The portal was created for prospective and recent immigrants, as well as employers, community organizations, government, and other agencies or individuals.
