Take a look at the Torch Relay: December 27th 2009

To give our Canadian athletes a final show of support, we're excited to announce the launch of a new Facebook application: It Takes A Nation. In just a couple of minutes, users can digitally put the Canadian flag on their profile photo. As more and more people put the 'Game Face' on, we'll see a wave of patriotism spreading across the Internet and across the country.

Leigh Hobson, Beijing 2008

"The Olympics is a chance to celebrate the pursuit of excellence. The Olympic Torch symbolizes that pursuit, but even more so it symbolizes the support given to an athlete from their friends, family and community. It's a great honour to have the Torch come through Cambridge enroute to Vancouver!"

Leigh Hobson, Olympic Cyclist and Cambridge resident

Leigh Hobson finished as the top North American individual road race competitor at Beijing, clocking in just 0.30 seconds behind the leader, and earned a bronze medal at the women's road cycling World Cup circuit.

Leigh will be among the guests joining Mayor Doug Craig and Council members on the podium for Cambridge's special event to welcome the Olympic Torch to our community.
