The Policy section has published in the past annual Economic Analysis Reports. While these reports are no longer published annually, the information found in the archived documents is still a valuable resource to understand Economic Development in Cambridge. These reports provided an overview of numerous aspects involving Cambridge's economy including the following: Statistics Canada data describing the business make-up of the city by size, type and number of businesses. Building permit data describing the value of construction reflected by Residential, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional building permits. Also published was an estimate of the city's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The most recent Census Place of Work data describing the proportions of the workforce that live in the city or leave the city are charted as well. The number of personal and commercial bankruptcies and the total financial impact was also graphed. The growth of the Assessment Tax base and a comparison to other municipalities was charted as is Development Charge data.
