Official Plan Amendments
The City of Cambridge Official Plan provides a land use strategy for the areas located within the municipal boundary of the City of Cambridge. The policies of this plan generally focus on the next 20 years unless otherwise noted. For information or to purchase a copy of the Official Plan, please contact Cambridge Planning Services Department at 519.740.4650.
If a proposal does not comply with the policies or land use designation of the plan, then an amendment is required provided the proposal meets other policies of the plan and the policies of senior levels of government.
Applicants requesting an Amendment to the Official Plan would be requesting to alter the 20 year plan for the City. The Official Plan Amendment process is approximately a minimum of six months.
