Parking tickets help to regulate the movement of traffic on City roadways, and to ensure smooth traffic flows and safe streets. The City's various parking bylaws specify a set fine amount for each type of parking violation or infraction. The amount of the fine appears on the parking ticket.

To discuss and have a review of your parking ticket if you believe it was issued in error, you must set up an appoitment to attend in person at the City's First Attendance Facility. To set up an appoitment please call 519-740-4613 Ext. 7926 with your ticket number. You or your authorized agent must bring the parking infraction notice with you. First Attendance appoitments are on Wednesday afternoons.

This customer service initiative was introduced as a method of resolving parking ticket infractionswithout having Provincial Court Trials scheduled. However, if you wish to challenge the evidence of the officer, you can chose to set up a trial. You or your agent must sign a Notice of Intention to Appear in Court to commence the trial procedures.

If you choose not to pay your parking ticket after conviction, a Notice of Fine and Due Date is automatically created at an additional $16.00 and mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle advising of the increased fine amount and the due date for payment. If you choose not to pay your convicted parking ticket before the due date given on the Notice of Fine and Due Date, your ticket is forwarded to the Ministry of Transportation for plate denial. The Ministry adds an additional amount of $20.00 to the fine amount. This full balance must be paid before a sticker will be issued and/or renewed for the motorist.

Parking Exemptions

The City of Cambridge does not allow parking on city streets between 2:30am and 6:00am. However, in special circumstances, residents may request a parking exemption to allow them to park on the street.
