By-Law Complaints and Enforcement
The City of Cambridge By-law Enforcement division is responsible for all municipal by-laws, except for those related to parking. Parking concerns will be addressed by calling 519.740.4682 Ext. 4216. Alternatively, you may e-mail your concern to <bylaw@cambridge.ca>. Please include your name and telephone number in the e-mail. By-law officers are available to address citizens' concerns such as noise complaints related to loud music or barking dogs, inoperable vehicles, property standards issues, pools, fences, mobile signs and any other activity addressed in a Cambridge by-law.
You may contact the By-Law office Monday to Friday, 8:30 am until 4:30 pm at 519.740.4613, ext. 4612. Officers are on duty during these hours. Currently the City of Cambridge also has an officer working most evenings, generally until 12:00 am from Sundays to Wednesdays, and until 3:00 am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
The evening by-law officer is dispatched through the Waterloo Regional Police. If you wish to report a by-law concern after 4:30 pm on weekdays and on weekends, and require immediate attention, please contact the Waterloo Regional Police Dispatch at 519.653.7700 who will then dispatch a By-law Officer.
The Police will deal with concerns such as loitering, trespassing, noise related to domestic disputes, possible drug activity, vandalism or other possible criminal activity. Complaints of this nature should be directed to the Waterloo Regional Police.
