Code of Conduct
Section 7.1 of the Building Code Act mandates that all municipalities prepare and enforce a code of conduct for the Chief Building Official and its inspectors. The Building Division along with the Human Resource Division has provided such a document.
The purpose of the Building Officials Code of Conduct of conduct is to promote appropriate standards of behaviour, to prevent practices which may constitute an abuse of power, and to promote appropriate standards of honesty and integrity in the exercise of a power or the performance of a duty under the Building Code Act.
