Definition: To free or remove victim from an entrapment of difficulty to a place of safety. To do this without causing further injury to the victim or aggravation to the scene.

- To prevent, control and extinguish fires
- To make accessible and readily removable any trapped patients
- To assist with removal and patient care as necessary
Stabilization
Upon arrival at a scene we must:
- Stabilize the scene
- Stabilize the vehicle
- Stabilize the casualty
Statistics
- Over 400 vehicle accidents, this is not including minor fender benders
- One station & truck, rescue truck, police, and ambulance
