Terry Allen - Fire Chief

Fire Chief Terry Allen started with the Cambridge Fire Department in 1975. In 1988 he became Deputy Chief and in 1992 was promoted to Fire Chief. He is currently the Deputy Fire Coordinator for the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.

Chief Allen served as President of the Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs for four terms. He also serves as the Management Co-chair on the Ministry of Labour's Section 21 Committee and served as Director of the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs for four terms. He is the Immediate Past Chair for the National Fire Protection Association's Fire Service Section and is a member of the Technical Committee on Fire Services Deployment for Career Fire Departments for NFPA.

He is a Director for the Fire Marshal's Public Fire Safety Council and is Chair of the Council's Strategic Planning Committee.

Chief Allen has an Honours BA in Religious Studies from the University of Waterloo and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Western Ontario. Chief Allen is a strong advocate of Public Education and Fire Prevention as a critical element in reducing fire losses.
