Ward 1 - Definition:
This is the largest and northernmost ward of the city and also its most rural. It is bounded on the east by the limits of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, on the west by the limits of the City of Kitchener and the Grand River, on the north by Kossuth Road and on the south by the path of the Macdonald-Cartier Freeway (the 401). It contains the once-independent Town of Hespeler and the settlements of Fisher Mills, Freeport, Kossuth and Hagey.
