Recreation Activities
Directly Offered
The Community Services Department endeavors to serve the needs of the individuals and families within The City of Cambridge. Services are offered directly by city staff to meet the varied recreational needs of our community.
We actively promote and encourage individuals to participate in healthy, positive environments, in their utilization of friendly, safe and clean facilities. We strive to carry out this mission by providing a host of recreational activities, which may take the form of programs or rentals. By doing so, people have the opportunity to learn new things, and improve their overall quality of life, through the active support of leisure pursuits.
Community Assisted
The Recreation delivery method used by The City of Cambridge when not directly involved in offering a recreational program is called “the community development approach”. It is one that encourages community groups to take leadership in providing recreational opportunities. This approach to service delivery is fundamental to the municipal partnership with Neighbourhood Associations.
