Summer Students & Temporary Labourers
SUMMER STUDENTS:
Summer student applications are available from mid-December until the end of January of each year. Check this website for specific details during December and January each year.
Student labourer positions are available from May until the end of August of each year. Aquatic positions (e.g. lifeguards, instructors) are available from June until the end of August.
The Community Services Department offers employment with pools, parks, cemeteries, playgrounds, and skate board parks.
The Transportation & Public Works Department offers employment with the Public Works Division in Roads, Traffic, Sewer and Construction.
Note: Labourers must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
TEMPORARY LABOURERS:
Applications for Temporary Labourers within the Community Services Department and the Transportation and Public Works Department are accepted during a specified week during the month of January. These positions are available for varying durations of time (from three to eight months) from approximately March to December.
