Cambridge Heritage Business Awards

The Cambridge Heritage Business Awards program is an initiative of the Cambridge Archives Board and the awards are presented annually by the Board and City Council. The purpose of the program is to recognize those businesses presently operating in Cambridge, who have remained in business for a long period of time and who have spent a significant part of that time in Cambridge. The awards honour and recognize the efforts of both present and past owners.

Longevity is the sole criterion for eligibility for a Cambridge Heritage Business Awards

There will not be presentation categories but organizations eligible for the
awards must be from the business, manufacturing or retail sectors;

There will be seven periods for which a business can be recognized:
i)50 - 74 years
ii)75 - 99 years
iii 100 - 124 years
iv)125 - 149 years
v)150 - 174 years
vi) 175 – 199 years
vii) 200 plus years

All businesses recognized will be presently located in Cambridge and
will have a continuous connection with Cambridge and its founding
municipalities as described below

i)50 - 74 years - 25 years continuous connection
ii)75 - 99 years - 35 years continuous connection
iii)100 - 124 years - 40 years continuous connection
iv) 125 - 149 years - 45 years continuous connection
v) 150 years - 50 years continuous connection
vi)175 years - 60 years continuous connection
vii)200 plus years - 75 years continuous connection
