Cambridge Archives and Records Centre
The Cambridge Archives and Records Centre forms part of the City of Cambridge Clerks Division along with Municipal Records Management and Freedom of Information Services. The Archives handles items dealing with the history of Cambridge and its founding municipalities, Municipal Records Management deals with how internal City documents are filed and stored and finally, Freedom of Information Services is charged with dealing with information requests as well as privacy concerns of the public with regards to city documents.

The link below provides an index of archival records dating back over 200 years. You will be able to find indexed information on subjects such as: census records, select marriage licences and obituaries, vital statistics, veterans, meetings and agendas, reports, By-Laws and other important data from the history of the City of Cambridge as well as Galt, Hespeler, Preston and Blair. There is also a collection of nearly 10,000 images online. Discover local history and what kind of information is available before you come to visit the Cambridge Archives & Records Centre. This service is available to support your needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Features and Events
The City of Cambridge Archives and its Advisory Board are presenting "Tracks along the Grand" a local history and exhibit showcase on Saturday, October 29th 2016. This exhibit tells the history of the electric railway in the area. The Exhibit and lectures will be held in the Atrium and Bowman Room of Cambridge City Hall. The event will take place from 8:15 a.m. until 2 p.m.
There will be exhibits from local history groups and a self-guided tour of local sites. The Cambridge Archives and Records Centre as well as the Fire Museum and Education Centre will be open for viewing.
Admission is FREE and a light lunch will be provided.

Images for personal use may be obtained without the watermark free of charge. Watermark-free images for reproduction or commercial use are subject to a small fee. By using any of the photos, you agree to our Permission to Copy conditions.
